Menu for Hope II raffle winners

Menuforhopelogorafflewinner_1I am so very happy to begin yet another year on Chez Pim with such a wonderful announcement. With the help of all the participating food bloggers who put up an enticing, dizzying array of prizes and the many, many generous donors, we are closing our Menu for Hope II campaign with $17,101.32 going to UNICEF to help support the victims of the Kashmir earthquake.

If you donated on the campaign, read the rest of the post to find out if you won anything. If you're one of the lucky winners, contact the blogger who sponsored the gift with your contact information so your prize could be mailed to you. (And no, there is no shipping/handling costs to the winners, this ain't no shady late night direct marketing, ha.)

Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you so very much to everyone for your help. Our Menu for Hope II is such a smashing success because of all of you. Thank you.

(P.S. Email me if you had any problem or question, I won't be online very much in the next five days -off to ski in Colorado- but I promise I'll sort everything out when I return. Happy new year everyone!)

hi, pim
Long time no see ! I'm so happy to meet you again. In fact, I was too busy, I couldn't take care of my blog " Unfortunately ". As new year's resolution, I came back to home.
Hope to meet you very often in your and my blogs.

Happy new year

well done again pim on the great job done (and woohoo, i have excuse to go to paris again, hehehe!).

enjoy your skiing trip, and looking forward to many more wonderful adventures with you in the new year. :)

Well done Pim, raising all the money and organizing such wonderful prizes. Mmm, the Jin and Michel Cluizel chocolates shall be a late Christmas present.

Hi Pim,
Well, it seems the idea I kept suggesting to my readers to buy Menu For Hope "tickets" for holiday presents was a good one. My gluten-free pal will be thrilled to learn she is receiving a late Christmas gluten-free goodie basket from Shauna!

Thanks again for organizing this amazing event.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners and thanks again to Pim for putting this together!

(I had to donate post deadline as I had a small credit card issue ... but it's all good!)

Brilliant job Pim and the entire Food and Wine Blogging community. Congratulations to all the winners. Thanks for all you efforts Pim.

I have to point out, accepting prizes is tacky. The winners gave for the cause. Asking the donors to pay for postage is uncool. They should donate the gifts to the cause as well. Thats what classy charity recipients do.

please insert sound here:

"WOOOO HOOOO" "NOOO WAAY!"

Nelly Boy screaming down theoretical aisle in mind's eye.

Well my goodness, a very lucky gift for someone who just offered dinner at manresa as a birthday gift to best friend!

And really Pim, the work you put into this, amazing. A Stunningly beautiful, even slightly whimsical, generous gift you give to our community. And to communities abroad. I don't care what anyone says, it's not just your smile that's infectious.

You inspire us all. merci beaucoup.

Thank you so much for all your work, Pim. You're the best! :D

Pim - Thank you for organizing this great effort, it must've been a ton of work and I just wanted to throw in my appreciation for all you've done!

I hope you enjoy that vacation in Colorado, you deserve it.

Thank Pim - great effort all round. I hope you have better conditions for skiing in Colorado than we did snowboarding in Tahoe.

In response to Anon, I don't think it is tacky for winners to accept their prizes. I spent literally days and days putting my prize packages together and I think I would probably be offended if the winners didn't want to receive them. Likewise, my generous sponsors were all happy and eager to donate the gifts and would like to share their products with the winners.

Entrants donated and were given promise of a prize. Those who didnt want a prize, stated so. To break a promise or a contract after the fact - now that would be tacky, wouldn't it?.

The food community is all about sharing and spreading the word about the things that they love. People gave these prizes, because they actually want to give those things away and share them with like-minded people.

You suggest that the gifts should be donated to the cause as well, but that doesn't make sense? They already have been donated to the cause. I don't see any other way that the prizes on offer in this particular fund raising event would be of any use to the cause itself. Would sending a few dozen Western recipe books to Pakistan improve matters there?

Wow! I can't believe I won a prize! Thanks for putting this together, Pim. What a fun way to raise money for a great cause. Next year, I'll try to come up with something to donate - maybe some handwoven napkins or tea towels?

(And I agree with Sam, I would be very disappointed if I donated a prize and it was not bid on or accepted. Not good manners and not in the spirit of the contest. If a person wanted to donate money without designating a prize, there was that option.)

Thanks for letting us be a part of this, Pim!

Calling KRISTEN HOYLE- Drop me a line so I can get these great Austrian wines on over to you!

I just wanted to say that I won the cast iron kadai offered by VK of My Dhaba.

I appreciate the spirit in which the pan was offered (and would love to have such a pan to add to my collection of cast iron that I love) but I couldn't accept the pan. I am sure it is well loved & would like to see it stay with it's owner. The only reason I bid on the Kadai was in the hope of winning it so VK could keep it ! I don't think that is bad manners on my part, I would have appreciated the gesture if that had been my pan, but would have sent it all the same if the winner decided they wanted it.

I certainly don't mean any disrespect by not accepting the pan and I hope that VK understands that.

Pim, thanks again for all your help spearheading this fantastic effort. I was so glad to be a part of it. And now on to Fiona K - are you out there? I still haven't heard from the lovely lady who won Anne Willan's Cooked to Perfection... does anyone know where she might be? Thanks for any and all help.
