Menu for Hope III: prizes from Chez Pim

Menuforhopelogo_4

I've been too busy writing the round-up prizes that I haven't got a chance to highlight the prizes that I've managed to hoodwink persuade some generous people I know to offer for our Menu for Hope this year. I'm getting into it now, and just in time to announce a very cool new addition that just came in this afternoon.

With no further ado, Chez Pim is proud to present these prizes........

Ok....maybe just another small ado, in case you haven't noticed, we raised over $8,000 already!!!! And we're not even done with our second day yet!

Alright, alright, now on to the prizes proudly presented chez moi.

------------------------------------

ManresaUW01: A meal of a lifetime at Manresa.
Yes, this prize is a dinner for two at the 2-Michelin-star...and 4-SF-Chronicle-star...and one of Restaurant Magazine '05 Top 50 restaurants in the world...and one of Gourmet Magazine Top 50 restaurant in the US....and, most importantly so, Chez Pim's Most Favorite Restaurant Ever -ok, ok, you know I'm just a tad prejudiced in this matter. But you get the point.

David –yes, that David- will host you -whichever you it is wins this prize- and a guest at Manresa. You will be treated to the Grand Tasting Menu, with an abundant of wines to match the many, many courses that will sure to come your way. Come hungry, come thirsty, come with a designated driver! David will sit down for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with you after dinner for a bit of tête-à-tête. How cool is this?

------------------------------------

UW02: Thomas Keller
Thomas Ok, I might have exaggerated a bit. I'm not really raffling off Thomas Keller, per se (oh I'm so funny). What's on offer, instead, is a chance to have coffee à deux with the very famous and very awesome Thomas Keller. Do I have to tell you who Thomas Keller is? I hope not...because if you didn't know by now perhaps you shouldn't be wasting your raffle tickets for this one, you think?

Le Petit Print, as my friend the good Mr.Lebovitz would say....
The lucky winner of this raffle prize will get to have coffee with him at Bouchon Bakery, either in Yountville or in Manhattan –though Yountville is his preferred location. It will have to be at a time that's both convenient for you –if you're the winner- and also for him, because, you know, being a world famous chef and all that keeps him quite busy. You'll get to arrange that time with his extremely able personal assistant –no that's not me. And you will have to claim your prize before 30 November 2007.

------------------------------------

UW03: Harold McGee
ThomasWell, not Harold McGee, per se.... Ok, I know I shouldn't be using the same joke twice, especially since it wasn't even that funny the first time. But here's your prize ladies and gents, a chance to have a cup of tea with the sweet, the generous, and the endlessly fascinating Harold McGee, somewhere in Palo Alto or San Francisco. No, not this Harold McGee. This One! (No offense the the first Mr.McGee, of course.)

Yes yes, another le petit print:
As with the world famous chef above, this world famous scientist is rather busy. So you –that's you the winner- will have to find the time that's agreed upon by both you and him. And the location should be somewhere in the Bay Area, preferably Palo Alto or the city, where he spends most of his time. Also you must claim your prize by November 30, 2007.

And last, but certainly not least.....drum roll....here's a prize that's hot off the press –ok, not the press, quite, but hot off my email inbox...

------------------------------------

UC10: A day stage at Alinea, with a solo dinner (The Tour menu with wine pairings) in the dining room to end your day with even a bigger bang!

Alinea This prize came personally from the Chef/Owner Grant Achatz and the Owner Nick Kokonas of the restaurant Gourmet Magazine named The Best Restaurant in America this year, Alinea. This is a great opportunity for anyone who's a fan of Grant, Nick, and/or Alinea. The stage program there is NOT open for the general public, so this may very well be your only chance to see all the action up close and personal. The winner of this raffle prize will get to spend the entire day observing all the workings of Alinea, from prep to service and ending with a huge big bang with a treat to The Tour menu with all the trimmings.

Is this cool or what? I mean, seriously.

------------------------------------

What are you waiting for? Part with some of your hard earned money for a very very good cause and, with a bit of luck, you might win one of my prizes or one of the many more prizes on offer on our Menu for Hope III.
